Amazon India is witnessing strong growth in order volume as per early trends for its key festival sale event, amidst macroeconomic concerns around inflationary pressures. The e-commerce major said that the Amazon Great India Festival 2026, opened with 100 per cent year-on-year growth in terms of shopping volume. This was driven by strong traction for premium products supported by affordability levers.
It added that consumers in nearly all pin codes placed an order. At the same time, in over 120 cities served by Amazon Now, one out of every two products were delivered within minutes.
Aman Deep Lohan, Director, Home, Kitchen and Outdoors, Amazon India told businessline, “Early trends from the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 have beaten our most optimistic expectations reflecting a positive consumer sentiment. We’ve seen a record 100 per cent increase in terms of shopping volume or products ordered as per early trends and this has been a historic opening.”
“We are witnessing clear trends in terms of consumers opting for premium products in categories such as appliances and smartphones. This is fueled by some of the affordability levers offered by the banks that we have partnered with, in terms of options such as the no-cost EMI,” he added. One out of two customers shopped using EMI and one out of every three units bought were rewarded with cashbacks, the e-commerce major noted.
In terms of home entertainment and appliances, LED TVs of 55 inches and above made up 65 per cent of all TVs sold within the first 12 hours. At the same time, large appliances sold 50x compared to a regular day. “Premium front-load washing machines of 9 kg and above ran at 80x, while dryers and dishwashers reached 60x,” it added.
“Beauty has been one of the fastest growing categories. One in every four products bought on Amazon.in in the first 12 hours was a beauty product. K-Beauty ran at 4x its everyday sales, with over 1,000 products sold every hour, led by Celimax, Medicube and Biodance. We are seeing strong demand for premium skin and hair care segments too,” Lohan noted.
In terms of fashion too, sales hit 7x of a regular day led by categories such as shoes, denims, ethnic wear and casual wear among others, it added.
Lohan added that health and wellness products are also witnessing strong traction with high shopping orders being witnessed for premium wearables, air fryers and air purifiers among others.
