YKK India Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Japan’s YKK Corporation, manufacturer of fastening products for the apparel, textile and industrial sectors, will establish a new manufacturing facility at Origins by Mahindra, Chennai, at an investment of $150 million.
Mahindra Industrial Park Chennai Ltd (MIPCL) is a joint venture between Mahindra World City Developers Ltd and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan.
For YKK India, it will be the third manufacturing plant in the country and will be spread across 149,936 sq m within the integrated industrial cluster. The facility is expected to be completed by February 2028, says a release from MIPCL.
With YKK India joining a growing roster of global manufacturers, including Mitsubishi Electric, Yanmar and Omron, Origins by Mahindra, Chennai continues to strengthen its position as a preferred destination for international manufacturing investments in India, the release said.

Origins by Mahindra, Chennai, is located on NH16 and lies within the influence zones of the Chennai–Bengaluru Industrial Corridor and the Chennai–Visakhapatnam Industrial Corridor, the release said.
