WOI India, the Indian chapter of Dubai-based WOI.ECO, has acquired early-stage investment and startup ecosystem platform SwiftSeed Ventures and appointed its founder Amar Dixit as the chief executive officer.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. SwiftSeed will continue to operate as an entity under WOI India, according to a statement.
The acquisition brings SwiftSeed’s founder-investor community into WOI India’s broader entrepreneurship ecosystem, which seeks to combine capital, education and infrastructure under an integrated platform, it added.
Over the past few years, SwiftSeed has built a network of more than 500 investors and 10,000 founders, operators and other ecosystem participants, besides investing in around a dozen startups.
The platform has also established partnerships with IIT Delhi, IIM Lucknow and IIM Udaipur, and collaborated with Maruti Suzuki Innovation and Google’s innovation ecosystem.
In his new role, Amar Dixit will lead WOI India’s platform and oversee its engagement with founders, investors, institutions and global partners, including Startup School, DayOne Venture Studio, CEO Square, VC Circle and WOI Angels.
