PNC Infratech Limited disclosed on September 14, 2026, that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has extended the debarment of its subsidiary Awadh Expressway Private Limited to the parent company for a period of three years.
The company received NHAI’s letter on September 11, 2026. The debarment, originally applicable to Awadh Expressway Private Limited, in which PNC Infratech is the Promoter, has now been extended to the company itself. PNC Infratech said it is evaluating legal remedies.
The immediate financial consequence is significant: the company will be unable to bid for any projects from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) or NHAI and their executing agencies for three years. However, PNC Infratech clarified that the debarment will not affect its status as a going concern, nor will it disrupt the execution, operation, or maintenance of its existing projects. The company added that any financial implications will be disclosed as clarity emerges.
Markets reacted sharply. PNC Infratech’s shares on the NSE fell 20 per cent on September 15, 2026, hitting the lower circuit, to close at ₹140.32, marking a fresh 52-week low. The stock has now declined over 53 per cent in the past year and nearly 44 per cent year-to-date, significantly underperforming the Nifty Total Market index. Total market capitalisation stands at approximately ₹3,600 crore.
