Travel technology company MakeMyTrip has acquired a majority stake in Bengaluru-based shared mobility platform Quick Ride, marking its entry into the ride-pooling segment. The acquisition covers the Quick Ride brand and its ride-pooling business, which will be housed under MakeMyTrip’s ground transport business.
As part of an internal restructuring, Quick Ride’s brand and ride-pooling operations have been transferred to a newly-formed entity, Co Ride Mobility Private Ltd, in which MakeMyTrip has acquired a majority stake. Quick Ride’s promoters will continue to lead the business, while its erstwhile electric vehicle (EV) taxi business will remain with the predecessor entity, iDisha Info Labs Private Limited.
Commenting on the acquisition, Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of MakeMyTrip, said the company would leverage its experience in building redBus, both in India and overseas, to scale the business.
“As part of our expansion strategy, we have pursued selective strategic partnerships, investments and acquisitions that complement and strengthen our existing business and expand the breadth and depth of our offerings. Ride pooling gives us a presence in high-frequency daily commutes within cities, as well as intercity travel,” he said.
Founded in 2015, Quick Ride is a Series B-funded company. It reported revenue of ₹54.2 crore and a profit of ₹4.5 crore in FY25, with revenue growing 1 per cent year-on-year, as per market intelligence firm Tracxn.
The acquisition comes as MakeMyTrip continues to expand its presence across travel and mobility segments. Its previous acquisitions and investments include Savaari in car rentals, Happay in corporate travel and expense management, Flamingo Transworld in regional group holiday packages, and a minority investment in visa-processing platform Atlys.
In Q2 FY27, MakeMyTrip reported gross bookings of $2.72 billion, up 20.9 per cent year-on-year in constant currency. Its adjusted margins grew across business segments, with hotels and packages recording 20.2 per cent growth and bus ticketing 29 per cent growth.
The company has also filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) confidentially with the SEBI on July 24, 2026, targeting a domestic initial public offering (IPO) expected to exceed $1 billion (approx. ₹8,600+ crore), and is expected to involve a sale of equity shares in MakeMyTrip India by MakeMyTrip and its wholly owned subsidiary, ibibo Group Holdings (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
