Expanding its footprint in central Kerala, Lulu Group will open its second hypermarket in Kottayam at the upcoming KGA mall in Changanassery.
The group has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with KGA group to set up a 50,000 sq. ft. hypermarket at KGA mall. The LoI was signed by Joy Shadanandan, Director of Thiruvananthapuram and Tamil Nadu Region, Lulu Group India, and Eapen K.C., CEO and Director, KGA Group in the presence of Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of Lulu Group and K.G. Abraham, Chairman and Managing Director, KGA Group.
The new store will bring Lulu’s retail offerings closer to customers across Kottayam and neighbouring districts. The project is also expected to create more than 550 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The Changanassery store will be Lulu’s second hypermarket in Kottayam district, following its existing store in Nattakom.
“The new hypermarket is part of Lulu’s expansion plans in Central Kerala, in line with the vision of Yusuffali M.A, Chairman of Lulu group, The encouraging response to our Kottayam Nattakom store has strengthened our confidence in the market. This expansion will support local economic growth and create new employment opportunities in the region,” Joy Shadanandan said.
“This collaboration will transform Changanassery into a premier retail and lifestyle destination in Central Kerala while creating significant employment opportunities for the local community.” said Eapen.
The hypermarket will be an anchor tenant at KGA Mall, a mixed-use development by KGA Group in Changanassery. The project will also feature national and international retail brands, restaurants and cafes, entertainment facilities, a luxury hotel, a banquet hall, and extensive parking facilities.
