Kay Beauty, the makeup brand co-founded by Nykaa and actor Katrina Kaif, has reported an annualised net sales value (NSV) run rate of ₹300 crore in Q1 FY27, representing 3x growth over the past three years. The brand now counts nearly 3 million consumers in India and claims the position of the country’s largest celebrity beauty brand.
The seven-year-old brand turned profitable within its first year of operations — an unusual feat for a consumer startup — and currently reports double-digit EBITDA margins and a return on capital employed (ROCE) of over 50 per cent. New product launches accounted for roughly 40 per cent of the brand’s revenue in Q1 FY27, signalling strong momentum from its innovation pipeline.
On the international front, Kay Beauty marked one year of its presence in the United Kingdom through a partnership with premium beauty retailer Space NK, where it ranked among the top five brands shortly after launch. The brand also retails in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region through Nysaa, Nykaa’s Middle East platform, where it ranks among the top three brands. Kay Beauty was the first India-founded beauty brand to enter Space NK’s curated global portfolio.
The brand has also moved upmarket through premium collaborations, including a limited-edition collection with designer label Falguni Shane Peacock. Its product formulations feature skin-care ingredients such as ceramides, marula oil, and chamomile, positioning it above the mass segment.
Kay Beauty sits within the House of Nykaa brand portfolio, which generated an annualised NSV of ₹2,032 crore in Q1 FY27, growing at over 50 per cent year-on-year for three consecutive years. The brand retails across 700-plus offline stores in India and is available on the Nykaa platform and its own website.
