Kalyan Jewellers has recorded 26 per cent rise in consolidated revenue in the September quarter year-on-year.
In India, the company’s revenue increased 27 per cent, led by robust operating momentum on the ground with healthy same-store-sales-growth across all the key markets in the country despite the high base due to strong Navratri sales.
The company launched first regional brand, Akshaya Thanga Maligai (ATM), in Chennai in August which gained strong revenue traction over the first 40 plus days of operation with the biggest season for Tamil Nadu slated to start from the 11th of October, said Kalyan Jewellers in a statement. It plans to launch another four showrooms, under the franchised model, over the course of the current financial year – two during the ongoing quarter and two in the fourth quarter.
The international operations recorded revenue growth of about 18 per cent for the recently concluded quarter. In West Asia, the company witnessed revenue growth of about 12 per cent. International markets contributed about 11 per cent to consolidated revenue in the September quarter.
The lifestyle jewellery brand, Candere, recorded a revenue growth of about 64 per cent.
During the recently concluded quarter, it launched 12 Kalyan showrooms in India (net 11), 9 Candere showrooms in India and 1 Kalyan showroom in the UK.
During the recently concluded quarter we completed the sale of one of the two identified parcels of non-core real estate assets, held for sale, with a value of about ₹86 crore.
The sale of the second land parcel valued at about ₹16 crore will be completed in the ongoing quarter, it said. The quarter also saw non-GML debt coming down to zero.
The company is upbeat on upcoming festive and wedding season across the country and are fully ready with fresh collections, campaigns and new showroom launches.
As of September-end, Kalyan Jewellers has 546 showrooms including 365 in India, 38 in West Asia, 2 each in the US and UK, besides 138 Candere.
