Nikhil Dhoka has been appointed chief executive officer of JioBlackRock Broking Private Limited, the brokerage arm of the joint venture between Jio Financial Services and BlackRock. Dhoka announced the appointment on LinkedIn.
Dhoka joins from Kotak Neo, where he spent nearly four years and most recently served as senior executive vice president, heading product and revenue. Prior to that, he held roles at Paytm in digital broking and at Western Union in international digital remittances.
JioBlackRock Broking is currently in its incubation and product development phase. The company received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India in June 2025 to operate as a stockbroker and clearing member. It aims to build a digital-first platform for retail investors by combining Jio Financial Services’ distribution reach with BlackRock’s investment and technology capabilities.
The joint venture is structured as a 50:50 partnership between Jio Financial Services and BlackRock under JioBlackRock Investment Advisers.
In his LinkedIn post, Dhoka said India’s capital markets were growing in participation but remained complex for many users. He said his focus would be on making investing and trading simpler and more accessible, and that he planned to build a team combining customer understanding with design and technology to rethink how retail investors engage with capital markets.
