The Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a convincing 30-run victory over the in Match 69 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. In doing so, the 2008 champions have jumped above the Punjab Kings and booked their place in the playoffs.
Having been put into bat, the Royals managed to score 205 from their quota of 20 overs. There were significant contributions up and down the batting order, despite there being no scores of above 50. Dhruv Jurel top-scored with 38, with Jofra Archer also hitting a 15-ball 32, with three massive sixes. MI, meanwhile, used six bowlers in total, with both Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur taking two wickets each.
In reply, the five-time champions lost four wickets inside the powerplay and thus started the run chase on the back foot. Suryakumar Yadav and Will Jacks tried to steady the ship by scoring 60 and 33, respectively. There was also a handy cameo from skipper Hardik Pandya, but it was too little too late. Led by Archer’s 3 for 17, RR bowlers dried up the runs in the death overs to confirm their safe passage into the playoffs.
