Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) on Wednesday reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1,196.1 crore for the second quarter (Q2) ended September 30, a decline of 24 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) as compared with ₹1,572.2 crore in the same period last year, largely hit by the hike in commodity prices.
However, total consolidated revenue from operations during the quarter in review grew by 18.5 per cent y-o-y to ₹20,696 crore from ₹17,460.8 crore in the July-September quarter last year, the company said in a stock exchange filing.
The company’s EBITDA came down to ₹1,974.5 crore during the quarter as compared to around ₹2,429 crore in the Q2 FY26.
“Q2 FY27 was a milestone quarter for HMIL, marked by record volumes and quarterly revenue exceeding ₹20,000 crore for the first time since our inception. However, elevated commodity costs weighed on the quarter’s profitability. Looking ahead, we see H2 as a period of accelerated momentum for us,” Tarun Garg, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, HMIL, said.
While macro-economic uncertainties and cost pressures persist, the company remains focused on strengthening its leadership across key segments, delivering sustainable growth and profitability, he added.
The company said it recorded highest-ever quarterly total sales of 2,19,072 units, supported by healthy growth of 15 per cent y-o-y and 23 per cent quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q).
Strong momentum in domestic, with growth in volumes by 19 per cent (y-o-y and q-o-q), complemented by all-time high rural penetration of 26.6 per cent and a record CNG contribution of 19.1 per cent in any quarter, it said.
Export also witnessed growth of 4 per cent y-o-y and a strong sequential growth of 38 per cent, despite geo-political challenges, HMIL added.
