Fortis Healthcare Ltd has acquired Suguna Hospital in Bengaluru for approximately ₹277 crore through an all-cash transaction structured as a slump sale, expanding its presence in the city’s north-western corridor.
The acquisition was completed on Wednesday through International Hospital Ltd (IHL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortis Healthcare. The transaction includes the hospital’s entire business operations, along with the underlying land and building.
Commissioned in 2006, Suguna Hospital is a 110-bed facility on Dr Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar, north-west Bengaluru. The hospital has the potential to expand its capacity to around 150 beds and recorded revenue of approximately ₹50 crore in FY26.
With the acquisition, Fortis will have access to around 500 potential beds in the north-western Bengaluru corridor across its existing Rajajinagar facility, People Tree Hospital in Yeshwanthpur and Suguna Hospital.
“This acquisition expands our presence in the city and specifically in the north-west Bengaluru corridor, which we believe is an underserved catchment. With Suguna Hospital in our portfolio, we now have around 1,000 operational beds in the city, including our operations and management (O&M) facilities,” said Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Managing Director and CEO of Fortis Healthcare.
Fortis currently operates 37 healthcare facilities, including joint ventures and O&M facilities, across 12 States. Its network comprises more than 6,300 operational beds, including O&M beds, and around 400 diagnostic laboratories.
