New age appliances brand EDT has raised $2.4 million in its Pre-Series A round led by existing investor Sauce & existing angels who doubled down on the brand. New participants and investors include Alteria Capital, Raul Rai (Nicobar), Shibam Das and Arindam Paul (Atomberg), Ajith Pai (Delhivery) and Anushree Tainwala (Samsonite).
The brand will use the capital to build inventory ahead of the festive season across channels, to launch new products, and to strengthen its growth, supply chain, brand and product teams. The fundraise also comes as EDT is looking to build a broader consumer design and technology platform across home, kitchen and beauty-tech.
Naiyya Saggi, Co-founder & CEO, EDT, said: “We started EDT with a simple conviction that everyday consumer appliances must be reimagined for the realities of a modern premium consumer. Our platform of Intelligent Care, uses intelligence thoughtfully, from the design, the technology and programming, to the materials chosen, to the way a product ultimately has proven outcomes of care for our consumer. The response to LUMA and FLOW has been extraordinary.”
“This fundraise helps take that philosophy into new categories. SUKI is the first device in our next step to bringing Intelligent Care into beauty and build our Intelligent Beauty portfolio with our patent pending algorithms clinically tested to transform hair over time,” she added
EDT’s products are available on Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Croma and FoodStories, as well as its own D2C platform.
Manu Chandra, Founder & Managing Partner, Sauce, said: “EDT has demonstrated one of the strongest new-age brand trajectories I have seen in recent times, with healthy business fundamentals, strong consumer traction and an exceptional level of customer trust. We doubled down because we believe EDT has the opportunity to build far beyond individual appliance categories and create a broader consumer design & technology platform spanning the home, kitchen and personal care for the modern consumer.”
EDT has three more product launches in the pipeline across home, kitchen and beauty-tech. Its next phase of growth will focus on R&D and product expansion, strategic omnichannel distribution, community building and select team expansion, it added
