ED officials who raided the house of , were attacked and their vehicles vandalized by CPI(M) workers who protested against the raid.
They were targeted while leaving Vijayan’s house in Thiruvananthapuram after completing the seven-hour-long raid.
CPI(M) workers led by party state secretary M V Govindan had trooped the streets and staged a sit-in in front of Vijayan’s house. CRPF personnel and Kerala police officials were also present when the ED team was attacked in the presence of senior CPI(M) leaders.

Party workers threw eggs and bricks at ED vehicles, smashing wind shields of the cars with sticks.
Workers protested against the ED soon after the news of raids at Vijayan’s residence broke out, taking to the streets and raising slogans against the central agency and BJP.
The ED raided Vijayan’s houses in the state capital and his native village Pinarayi in Kannur, premises linked to daughter Veena’s IT firm in , and the house of his son-in-law Muhammed Riyas in Kozhikode, among other locations. The raids are part of a probe into alleged illegal payments made by Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) to Veena’s now-defunct IT firm Exalogic during Vijayan’s first term as CM.
