Coco Gauff is back in the US Open semifinals for the first time since she won the title in 2023. The fourth seed saved two match points in a wild second-set tie-break, then pulled away from French Open champion Mirra Andreeva 2-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 on Arthur Ashe Stadium on Wednesday.
Gauff, 22, had never lost to the 19-year-old Russian. This was the closest Andreeva has come. The American will now meet Elena Rybakina in the last four after the new world No. 1 beat Qinwen Zheng earlier in the day.
