CleanMax and Nuvoco Vistas Corp. have announced a partnership to develop a 46.4 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project in Bhikamkhore, Rajasthan, aimed at powering Nuvoco’s cement manufacturing operations with clean electricity.
The project combines 20 MW of wind and 26.4 MWp of solar capacity, supported by a 2 MWh Battery Energy Storage System.
Power will be supplied to Nuvoco through the State Transmission Utility Open Access network under a group captive structure. Once operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 100 million units of renewable electricity annually.
The project is projected to avoid roughly 62,023 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually under Scope 2 and around 63,463 tonnes under Scope 1. It forms part of Nuvoco’s DIRE agenda, the company’s structured framework covering digitalisation, innovation, renewables, water stewardship and circularity across its manufacturing operations.
For CleanMax, the project adds to an operational portfolio exceeding 525 MW in Rajasthan across solar, wind and hybrid assets. The company’s total contracted renewable energy portfolio stood at 6.0 GW as of June 30, 2026.
Nuvoco, which reported total income of ₹11,362 crore in FY 2025-26, is targeting a total cement capacity of 35 MMTPA. The company entered Rajasthan in 2014 with a greenfield cement plant in Nimbol and has expanded significantly since, including the acquisition of Vadraj Cement in April 2025.
