Online astrology and spiritual consultation platform InstaAstro has doubled revenue to ₹111 crore in FY26 from ₹52 crore a year earlier, prompting its early investor Artha Venture Fund to deepen its focus on the emerging faith-tech sector.
Anirudh A Damani, Fund Managing Partner, Artha Venture said the fund, which has participated in every funding round since 2021, viewed astrology as an established consumer demand rather than a category that needed to be created.
“Hundreds of millions of Indians already consult an astrologer before a job change, a marriage, a house move. Nobody had to create the demand,” Damani said.
InstaAstro has 12 million registered users across 183 countries and more than 5,000 verified astrologers, tarot readers, numerologists and vastu consultants. About a quarter of its revenue comes from outside India, primarily from the Indian diaspora. The company invested early in multilingual support and international payment infrastructure, said Damani.

Repeat consultations were a more important indicator of the platform’s performance than revenue alone, given the role of trust in the business, he added.
The broader sector has attracted investor interest, with Tracxn tracking over 900 religious-tech startups in India. Damani, however, cautioned against treating faith-tech as a single investment category, saying supply quality and verification remained key challenges.
Artha’s portfolio also includes Nirmalaya, which converts temple flower waste into incense and havan products, and SwaDharma, a software provider for temple bookings, donations and accounts. Damani said InstaAstro occupies the consultation layer within this broader ecosystem.
InstaAstro is deploying part of its new capital towards AI tools, including sentiment analysis to provide astrologers with context before sessions, and expanded multilingual support. Its next phase includes growing overseas revenue beyond the diaspora and building independent margins for newer verticals such as Pooja Seva and commerce.
Artha’s role remains focused on acquisition spending, senior hiring and founder support through its wider network.
