E-commerce giant Amazon, which has been focusing on the MSME sector for the past nine years to grow its business in the B2B segment in India, has also started focusing on the large enterprise segment recently.
For Amazon Business, overall sales are growing at 65 per cent in terms of value, with a five-year CAGR of 40 per cent. Customer growth over five-year has also seen a CAGR of around 40 per cent.
“Our focus to the largest has been on MSME. We are gradually also looking at some of the large enterprise customers, but at a later point in time,” Mitranjan Bhaduri, Director, Amazon Business, said on Tuesday.
Bhaduri said while geopolitical pressures and price rises have affected businesses broadly, the e-commerce company has not seen a significant impact on its numbers as MSMEs have continued to make core, non-impulse purchases to keep their operations running.
“The geopolitical situation is the same for pretty much everybody. The price rises have already happened. It is something that everybody has to deal with, but at the same time, business does not stop, and a lot of these purchases are not impulse purchases. They are purchases that are core to how the business runs. And if one has to tide over these situations, they will have to ensure that their core business continues running, which is possibly why we have not seen that kind of an impact on our numbers,” he pointed out.
According to the India MSME Digital Procurement Report 2026, released by the India SME Forum, digital procurement platforms enable MSMEs to compare supplier quotations in real time, improve price transparency, reduce information asymmetry and simplify GST-compliant procurement documentation. Digital procurement has evolved from a transactional purchasing function into a strategic business capability that reduces costs, improves operational efficiency, strengthens supplier collaboration, and automates supplier discovery.
“Businesses are increasingly adopting digital procurement capabilities; however, adoption remains strongest for core purchasing functions, while more advanced capabilities such as finance integration and procurement analytics are still evolving,” the report said.
Amazon Business has a product catalogue of more than 19 crore items from over 20 lakh sellers.
The company is investing ₹2,800 crore in 2026, up from ₹2,000 crore in 2025, in infrastructure to strengthen its delivery capabilities, which has helped it reach over one million deliveries on same day and over four million deliveries in two days in India.
