Precision engineering company Aequs reported a consolidated net loss of ₹52.2 crore in the September quarter (Q2 FY27), marginally lower than the ₹53.2 crore loss in the preceding quarter.
Higher depreciation and finance costs largely offset an increase in EBITDA. The net loss for the first half of FY27 stood at ₹105.4 crore, compared with ₹16.7 crore a year earlier.
Consolidated revenue rose 45 per cent year-on-year to ₹409.1 crore in Q2, driven by growth in both its Aerospace and Consumer businesses.
Aerospace revenue increased 44 per cent year-on-year to ₹351.4 crore in Q2 and 42 per cent to ₹673.6 crore in the first half. EBITDA for the segment grew 24 per cent to ₹78.3 crore in Q2 and 29 per cent to ₹151.4 crore in H1.
Consumer revenue grew 52 per cent year-on-year to ₹57.7 crore in Q2 and more than doubled to ₹131 crore in H1. However, the segment’s EBITDA loss widened to ₹40.1 crore in Q2 from ₹36.1 crore in Q1, taking the first-half loss to ₹76.3 crore, as the gradual ramp-up of operations continued to weigh on cost absorption.
Including proportionate contributions from joint ventures (JVs), Q2 revenue stood at ₹448 crore, up 44 per cent year-on-year and 4 per cent sequentially.
EBITDA was ₹33.1 crore, down 36 per cent year-on-year but up 8 per cent quarter-on-quarter. For H1, revenue rose 48 per cent to ₹878.1 crore, while EBITDA stood at ₹63.8 crore, with a margin of approximately 7 per cent.
Aequs’ aerospace order book increased 9 per cent sequentially to $1.1 billion, providing long-term revenue visibility.
The company also signed an agreement with Safran for A320 wheels, marking its first serial-production contract with a tenure exceeding 15 years. During Q2, it added 238 parts to its aerospace portfolio, taking the total number of stock-keeping units (SKUs) to 5,978.
The promoter group invested ₹650 crore through preferential warrants, strengthening the company’s funding position for capacity expansion, strategic JV investments and working capital requirements.
Aravind Melligeri, Executive Chairman and CEO of Aequs, said the first half of FY27 saw continued business expansion and stronger long-term growth prospects.
Revenue rose 50 per cent year-on-year to ₹804.6 crore, driven by 42 per cent growth in Aerospace and more than doubling of Consumer revenue. The aerospace order book stood at $1,096 million, he said.
The company also appointed Reenah Joseph as Chief Financial Officer. She brings nearly two decades of experience across corporate finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and investor relations.
