Adani Green Energy, the renewable energy arm of the Adani Group, reported a 16 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated profit after tax to ₹747 crore in the second quarter of FY27, riding on higher power supply revenues and strong operating performance.
Revenue from power supply rose 45 per cent year-on-year to ₹4,019 crore during the quarter, while EBITDA from power supply increased 51 per cent to ₹3,835 crore. Energy sales grew 33 per cent to 12,090 million units, supported by capacity additions and strong generation across its solar, wind and hybrid projects.
For the first half of FY27, revenue from power supply grew 36 per cent year-on-year to ₹8,299 crore. EBITDA from power supply increased 41 per cent to ₹7,957 crore, while cash profit rose 35 per cent to ₹4,176 crore. The company attributed the growth in operating performance to capacity expansion, the deployment of advanced renewable energy technologies and consistent performance across its sites.
Adani Green’s operational renewable energy portfolio expanded 24 per cent year-on-year to 20.8 GW by the end of September 2026, following capacity additions of 4,083 MW on a year-on-year basis. The additions included 2,957 MW of solar capacity, 805 MW of wind capacity and 321 MW of solar-wind hybrid capacity. A significant portion of the new capacity was added at the company’s Khavda renewable energy project in Gujarat, where operational capacity increased to 10.8 GW from 7.1 GW a year earlier. This includes 10,002 MW of Adani Green’s generation capacity and 750 MW set up for other Adani Group companies.
The company also expanded its battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity at Khavda by 3,081 MWh during the September quarter, taking its cumulative operational storage capacity to 6,632 MWh. Ashish Khanna, CEO, Adani Green Energy stated, “We also achieved a significant milestone in energy storage, expanding our operational BESS capacity at Khavda to 6.63 GWh—the world’s largest single-location battery storage installation. This makes AGEL India’s largest BESS operator, accounting for more than half of the country’s operational capacity. We remain focused on scaling up storage deployment while closely monitoring the availability of transmission infrastructure.”
The expansion in storage capacity is expected to improve flexibility in managing renewable energy generation and help address curtailment challenges at Khavda. The company said it could surpass its guidance of 10 GWh of battery storage capacity in FY27, given the pace of additions so far. During the first half of FY27, Adani Green invested approximately ₹17,160 crore in capital expenditure, up 38 per cent year-on-year, as it continued to expand its renewable energy portfolio. Its net debt to run-rate EBITDA stood at 5.6 times.
