AstraZeneca on Tuesday announced the appointment of Naveen Krishna Yamarthi as Managing Director of AstraZeneca India Private Limited (AZIPL) and Head of its Global Innovation & Technology Centre (GITC), Chennai, effective October 30.
In this role, Yamarthi will lead the next phase of GITC Chennai’s evolution as a multi-functional innovation hub with an eye on advancing AstraZeneca’s “Bold Ambition 2030.”
A seasoned technology leader, he brings more than 22 years of experience building and scaling Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with deep expertise in technology and business transformation. At AstraZeneca, he previously held key leadership roles in Operations IT, leading IT Capability and IT Solutions & Service Delivery for the Global Supply Chain, Global Procurement and Manufacturing business units.
Prior to AstraZeneca, Yamarthi was the Managing Director at Enlighted Energy Systems Private Ltd, where he established its GCCs.
AZIPL’s GITC in Chennai is a strategic hub for IT, Global Business Services (GBS) and Global Operations, including supply chain and strategy, supporting core business operations with high-impact, technology-driven solutions. The hub in Bengaluru is dedicated to Research & Development, GBS, IT and digital health capabilities, playing a key role in advancing scientific discovery and innovation within the enterprise.
