Homegrown spirits maker Tilaknagar Industries Ltd (TIL) on Friday reported a 57.7 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to ₹22.26 crore for the September quarter of FY27, mainly due to exceptional expenses related to integrating its Imperial Blue business.
The company had reported a net profit of ₹52.67 crore in the July-September period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from Tilaknagar Industries Ltd (TIL) on Friday.
Tilaknagar Industries reported an exceptional loss of ₹10.94 crore during the quarter due to non-recurring expenses incurred in connection with integrating the Imperial Blue business division acquired from Pernod Ricard India.
Its profit before exceptional items and tax was ₹33.24 crore, down 37.16 per cent from ₹52.91 crore a year earlier.
This was led by volume, which “grew 160 per cent y-o-y, to reach 8.9 million cases (9 litre each)”, the company said in its earnings statement.
TIL’s revenue from operations was up twofold at ₹2,437.55 crore in the September quarter. It was at ₹896.92 crore in the year-ago period.
Similarly, total expenses of TIL were also up twofold at ₹2,405.08 crore in the second quarter of FY27.
Total income of TIL, which includes other income, was also up twofold at ₹2,438.33 crore in the September quarter.
Chairman & Managing Director Amit Dahanukar said, “While primary volumes in Q2 have remained flattish, our secondary volumes have remained robust and shown an impressive 8 per cent growth on q-o-q basis with Imperial Blue secondaries growing at 8.5 per cent and existing business secondaries growing at 7 per cent.”
Imperial Blue has further strengthened its position with a pan-India market share gain of 100bps+ during the quarter, he added.
TIL is the maker of Mansion House Brandy, India’s largest and the world’s second-largest-selling brandy and home to Imperial Blue Whisky, the world’s third-largest-selling whisky.
