Global beauty major L’Oreal said it is witnessing a “great turnaround” in the India market, where growth has further accelerated driven by haircare and skincare. It is also sharpening its focus on the online channel including quick commerce. The French cosmetics major, which released its Q3 CY2026 earnings on Friday, said it has closed the acquisition of a majority stake in Innovist, a digital-first Indian personal care house of brands including Bare Anatomy and Chemist at Play. The company , which had announced this acquistion in June, said this will further support the acceleration of L’Oréal’s business in India.
The beauty major said that its consumer products division in India witnessed double-digit growth in the September quarter. At the same time, “emerging markets delivered spectacular growth, particularly in Brazil, India and the GCC,” for the professional products division, it said in an earnings statement.
Speaking at the earnings call, Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal said, “ India, where I was just a couple of weeks ago, is doing great turnaround there, both in terms of teams’ quality. We create for India much more than we did before. We are accelerating in commerce, with a focus on quick commerce, which is an important part of the e-commerce market there.”
In the skin care space, the company has also been focusing on strengthening the presence of dermatological beauty brand, CeraVe besides La Roche-Posay. “India is one of the countries where CeraVe is still a baby brand, but growing fast and expanding to new cities. We’ve launched La Roche-Posay also in India, a bit more expensive, but the two working together is good,” Hieronimus added.
Recently, L’Oréal’s corporate venture fund BOLD and Nykaa, announced a partnership to take minority stakes in high-growth Indian beauty, personal care, and wellness brands.
