Groww has rolled out its US stock investing feature to all customers after launching it in a phased manner for select users about three weeks ago, expanding its offerings beyond domestic equities as Indian investors look to diversify their portfolios globally.
The platform offers access to more than 10,000 US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), along with fractional investing, which allows users to invest in a portion of a share instead of purchasing a whole share. Groww charges brokerage of 0.1 per cent of the transaction value, while currency exchange charges are negotiated with its payment partners and banks.
“As Indian investors mature, their financial aspirations naturally expand beyond domestic markets. Many users today follow global companies, consume global products, and work in globally connected industries. They increasingly think about investing from a global perspective as well,” said Harsh Jain, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Groww.
“US stocks, hence, fit naturally into our broader vision of providing investors access to a wide range of wealth-building opportunities through a single platform,” he added.
Among the popular US stocks on the platform are Nvidia, SpaceX, Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Micron, Tesla and Netflix, Jain said. Semiconductors and artificial intelligence, space technology and big technology companies are among the popular investment themes, he added.
The expansion comes as Indian retail investors gain access to international markets through digital investment platforms. Fractional investing lowers the entry barrier for investors looking to gain exposure to companies whose shares may otherwise require a larger upfront investment.
Groww’s US stock offering adds to its existing investment products, which include domestic equities, mutual funds and other wealth-building options. The company is positioning the feature as a way for investors to access international investment opportunities through a single platform.
The rollout to all customers follows the initial phased launch, which began about three weeks earlier.
