Roseate Hotels & Resorts is targeting 30 operational hotels by 2030, while planning to launch a new upscale smart hotel brand and exploring expansion into international markets such as Dubai and Europe, its CEO Kush Kapoor said.
The hospitality brand, owned by the Bird Group, is looking to widen its presence beyond the luxury segment with a new category of four-star upscale or five-star smart hotels, aimed at tapping demand in smaller cities as well as major markets, Kapoor said in an interview to PTI.
The new sub-brand, expected to be launched early next year, will focus on technology and lower development costs while retaining the group’s service standards, he shared.
“That sub-brand will be launching in the early coming year also, so the product will be different, the cost of making the product will come down, in terms of the service and the standards that will remain exactly of the Roseate luxury standards, 4 star upscale or 5 star smart hotels, not the luxury,” Kapoor said.
The company sees an opportunity to offer quality hospitality at more affordable price points, particularly in smaller cities where Kapoor believes there is room for organised players to expand.
On international expansion, Roseate is actively looking at Dubai and European markets, although geopolitical uncertainty is weighing on investment decisions.
“We’re definitely looking at Dubai as a market. We’re definitely looking at European market,” Kapoor said, adding that the group would explore opportunities if it found the right location and pricing.
“The only challenge right now is the market scenario which we are all aware of. The geopolitical scenarios are not conducive enough for anyone to invest right now in these places,” he said.
Kapoor said the group hoped conditions would normalise in the coming year, allowing it to explore these markets.
Roseate has three operational hotels in India – two in Delhi and one in Rishikesh – and five hotels in the UK. Including projects that have been signed and confirmed, its overall portfolio across the two markets stands at 11 hotels.
“We’re looking to expand to about 30 (operational) hotels by 2030 now,” Kapoor said.
The group is pursuing expansion across several Indian destinations, including additional villas at its Rishikesh property, apart from a luxury resort in South Goa and a project in Shillong, Meghalaya.
