Pulse Pharmaceuticals has received approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for its nano-carrier entrapped Vitamin D3 oral dispersion.
“Clinical studies have demonstrated 50-60 per cent higher serum vitamin D levels with nano-carrier entrapped Vitamin D3 oral dispersion compared to conventional formulations,’’ the Hyderabad-based company said on Thursday. The product is being manufactured by Pulse Pharmaceuticals in Roorkee, Baddi and Hyderabad.
The proprietary Aqueol platform technology of the company is specifically designed to effectively/ deliver lipophilic compounds in water-based mediums. Pulse uses nanotechnology to improve performance of the drug, its bioavailability and the overall patient experience.
Beyond Vitamin D3, Pulse is applying these platforms to other essential nutrients (Vitamin K2-7, Vitamin B12 and Iron) and widely-used medications (Paracetamol, Diclofenac and Ibuprofen), a release said.
