Nagarjuna Akkineni enjoys the credit for launching many newcomers to Telugu film industry. Interestingly, he is now repeating the same strategy for his milestone 100th film. If the reports in the film circles are true, Nagarjuna will act in the direction of Ra. Karthik, for his 100th movie. The director earlier made Nitham Oru Vaanam in Tamil.
According to the latest reports, the much-anticipated 100th film will have a mafia backdrop. Although Karthik impressed with a drama in his debut, he has the potential to tap the mass audiences with a pakka commercial entertainer with Nagarjuna that will satisfy all the Akkineni fans.
Despite the lukewarm box office response in Andhra and Telangana for Karthik’s debut film which was released as Aakasham in Telugu, Nagarjuna decided to give him a chance. The director reportedly impressed with his narration and the second half works are currently in progress.
Interestingly, director Mohan Raja of Godfather fame was initially expected to helm Nagarjuna’s 100th film, with a father-son narrative involving both Nagarjuna and Akhil. That idea seems to have been shelved for now.
Post the success of Naa Saami Ranga, Nagarjuna hasn’t committed to a full-fledged solo lead role. Both Kubera and Coolie see him playing pivotal but not central roles.
A formal announcement on Nagarjuna’s 100th film is expected to be out soon.
