Mumbai Indians’ star batter recently took some time off the busy IPL schedule to indulge in a fun game of pickleball with actor Vijay Deverakonda. The duo went up against each other ahead of the clash against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, May 06.
The pickleball game saw Vijay promising to don the Mumbai Indians jersey if Tilak’s team emerged victorious. The actor and his partner outplayed the cricketer and his teammate in a close 2-1 win. Despite being a friendly contest, both sides played with intensity, with Tilak jokingly mentioning doing something for the actor if he loses.
“We have a bet. If we lose, we have to do something for Vijay Anna,” Tilak said. To which the superstar actor responded, “If we win, I will wear the Mumbai Indians jersey.” This wasn’t Tilak’s first try with pickleball, as he was recently spotted enjoying the game with MI teammate Rohit Sharma and his daughter Samaira.

Meanwhile, the Southpaw will be hoping to be at his usual best on the cricket field when Mumbai faces Gujarat. Both teams are level on 14 points and fighting for a place in the top two. MI, currently in third position, has registered six consecutive wins and has a solid record at the Wankhede Stadium. Notably, the 22-year-old has had a decent season so far, scoring 239 runs in eight innings, including two fifties.
On the other hand, GT will rely heavily on their top order, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler, as well as their returning bowling spearhead, Kagiso Rabada, to tackle Mumbai’s strong line-up.
