recently shared his thoughts on the support he received from supporters during the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. He also spoke about how special he felt to hear the crowd erupt in cheers everytime he walked in to bat.
CSK’s standby skipper also spoke on the IPL being the best thing to be a part of after having hung his boots from international cricket. The 43-year-old expressed that the feeling of being appreciated by fans was nothing short of “amazing”.

“It’s a very good feeling. It’s a big thank you from the fans’ side, that’s what I belive. Whatever last few years I’ll be playing, they [the fans] are saying, ‘thank you so much for whatever you’ve done’. It’s amazing!,” shared Dhoni during an interaction with Star Sports.
“Especially when you play a sport, what you want is the appreciation of fans. When it comes to cricket, India is the place to play. Being a part of the Indian cricket team is one of the biggest things. I’m not playing international cricket, so the IPL is the next-best thing which could happen,” he added.
“I don’t get goosebumps but it’s a kind of feeling; whenever you walk in, everybody’s very excited. They want you to do well. Even at times if you’re playing against the team that they want to win, they still want you to perform, contribute a bit, whatever it may be. So yeah, it’s an amazing feeling,” concluded Dhoni.
