After the 14-year-old’s fearless performance helped Rajasthan Royals defeat Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday, Vaibhav Suryavanshi touched MS Dhoni’s feet in one of the most heart-warming moments.
The incident occurred at the traditional handshakes following the Rajasthan Royals’ six-wicket victory, and the video of it went viral on social media. The CSK captain appeared to commend the boy for his 33-ball 57, including four sixes and four fours, however it is unclear what they discussed. This was Suryavanshi’s second fifty plus score of the tournament.
Vaibhav’s gesture of touching MS Dhoni’s feet comes out of respect for an elder and experienced player in the game.

Vaibhav opened the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 36 runs off 19 balls, and both gave their side a strong start. RR skipper Sanju Samson also played a captain’s knock of 41 off 31 balls. Dhruv Jurel’s unbeaten 31 runs off 12 balls helped Rajasthan Royals seal the win in 17.1 overs. With this win, the Rajasthan Royals ended their IPL 2025 campaign with four wins out of the 14 games they have played.
Courtesy of the quick contributions of Ayush Mhatre (43), Dewald Brevis (42) and Akash Madhwal (3 for 29), CSK were able to post 188 for RR to chase.
