Left-arm pacer Akash Singh delivered a brilliant slower ball to dismiss Jos Buttler in Match 64 of the , between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
He left the field briefly earlier due to an injury on his right hand, but made a strong comeback. On the third delivery of the 10th over, he bowled a deceptively slow inswinger from wide of the crease. The ball swung inwards and slipped through Buttler’s drive to crash straight into the stumps.
The pacer celebrated the dismissal in style as he brought out teammate’s Digvesh Rathi signature signing off the notebook gesture while flashing a smile towards the dugout. However, Akash’s did the celebration distinctly and was quite composed in comparison to Rathi’s past celebrations, which have earned him fines, demerit points and a one-match suspension after the most recent offence in the previous game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Buttler’s wicket marked GT’s earliest fall of three wickets in an innings this season.

Earlier in the match, LSG posted a humongous total of 235 in their 20 overs courtesy of a blistering knock by Mitchell Marsh. The Australian all-rounder hammered 117 runs off just 68 balls with the help of 10 fours and eight sixes. He was well-supported by Nicholas Pooran, who smashed 56 off 27 deliveries to give LSG strong momentum.
GT have already secured a spot in the playoffs and sit comfortably at the top of the table with 18 points. A win in this fixture would further cement their position and provide them a chance to finish in the top two. Meanwhile, LSG have already been eliminated from playoff contention, and currently occupying seventh place with five wins.
