Trust Urvashi Rautela to make every day interesting. Be it her fashion outings or her outlandish statements, Urvashi is ensures the world doesn’t miss intrigue and entertainment at all.
Take her latest statement for example. Not only has it come on the right time, but it also serves the perfect amount of spice and everything nice to make your day.
Urvashi has claimed her bathroom scene from the movie Ghuspaithiya was leaked intentionally in 2024, with the makers having taken her permission beforehand.
Urvashi shared that the makers approached her crying and explaining how their film lacks in several aspects. She added, “Unko kuchh debt aa gaya tha, aur kuch udhaari wagerah mein. They had to let go of their land and all. Woh sadak par aane waale thhay. And so, they came and discussed it with my business manager, head, and all. And then, they took our permission ki woh movie ka scene thha, kuchh aisa special nahin kiya thha humne. Woh movie ka hi scene thha. Toh un makers ka yeh ek request thhi ki kya hum isko pehle leak out kar sakte hain. And it was sort of awareness also ki ladkiyon ko have to be careful.”
Ghuspaithiya is a crime drama film written and directed by Susi Ganesan. It released in theatres on August 9, 2024. The makers have not yet responded to Urvashi’s claims.
Urvashi has also been in the news due to her comment on Saif Ali Khan’s knife attack. It so happened that she was asked her opinion on the incident which shook Bollywood. While expressing her condemnation of the attack, Urvashi flaunted her diamond-studded watch, which many found tone-deaf in light of the severity of the situation.
Urvashi then, in response to the criticism, issued an apology and acknowledged her lack of understanding of the seriousness of the attack at the time.
She wrote, “Please accept my sincerest apologies for being so ignorant and insensitive. Now that I know the gravity of your case, I am deeply moved and want to extend my unwavering support. Your grace, dignity, and resilience during such a challenging time are truly admirable, and I have nothing but immense respect for your strength.”
“If there is any way I can be of help or support, please do not hesitate to let me know. Once again, I am truly sorry, sir, for my earlier indifference. I promise to do better and to always prioritize compassion and understanding in the future,” she added.
In the same Saif interview, she had snubbed Kiara Advani by mentioning her film Game Changer, also starring Ram Charan, was not as a big hit as Daaku Maharaj was.
There have been other times as well when Urvashi ran into controversies without precaution.
She was in the spotlight also for her song ‘Dabidi Dibidi’ from the film ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ – in which she danced alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna. The song faced backlash on social media courtesy the age gap between 30-year-old Urvashi and Nandumuri, 64. The song was also criticised for its inappropriate choreography, termed ‘vulgar’ by many.
But Urvashi said she was okay with it. She said, “The dance with Nandamuri sir was not just a performance for me; it was a celebration of art, hard work, and respect for the craft. Working with him was a dream come true, and every step, every gesture was about creating something beautiful together.”
The list of Urvashi’s adventures with words and remarks goes on, proving herself to be a spirit animal for those who have to put their gift of the gab to use… somehow.
Keep ’em coming, Urvashi. We love it!
