Star director Trivikram’s last film, Guntur Kaaram, was released in January 2024 and ended up as a disappointing venture at the box office. After that, it was announced that Trivikram would team up with Icon Star Allu Arjun for a high-budget pan-India film. This would have been the fourth collaboration between Trivikram and Bunny, after Julayi, S/O Satyamurthy, and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
However, due to delays in pre-production, Bunny gave the nod to Atlee’s project, which was announced earlier this month. Apparently, Trivikram also told Bunny to finish Atlee’s film first, and that he would wait. But Atlee’s movie is expected to take at least one and a half years to hit the screens. It might be tough for Trivikram to wait for such a long time. Thus, there are reports that he may take up another film in the meantime.
Trivikram has had a pending project with Venkatesh for a long time. This movie was announced back in 2017 but was shelved for unknown reasons. Telugu cinema lovers have always wanted to see a collaboration between Trivikram and Venkatesh, especially since Trivikram delivered two blockbusters—Nuvvu Naaku Nachav and Malliswari—as a writer for Venkatesh. He also wrote dialogues for Vasu. Though that movie was a flop back then, it is still enjoyed by many today.
Given the high anticipation around this combination, Trivikram could revive this project before starting Bunny’s film. However, it remains to be seen whether he will take that call or wait for Bunny. As of now, Venkatesh hasn’t signed any film after Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. There are rumors that he will play a key role in Chiranjeevi–Anil Ravipudi’s upcoming film, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
So, we’ll have to wait and see what Trivikram’s next move will be regarding this long-pending project.
