The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) Monday announced it will likely hold a ‘Bocchor Bachao (save a year)’ examination for both Class 10 and Class 12 Board candidates after the completion of the ‘self-inspection’ and ‘review’ processes of answer scripts.
The ‘Bocchor Bachao’ examination, first implemented in 2020, allows examinees who have failed the Board exams to save a year by taking a retest.
“We are hopeful to start Bocchor Bachao examination from July 1 or July 2,” Dr Dulal Dey, Secretary, , told media persons.
The TBSE also started distributing marksheets of Madhyamik (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinees on Monday.
“We have already notified that distribution of marksheets for both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary students would be done today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday). After marksheet distribution, the review process will start, where a student can apply for review for a maximum of three subjects,” said Dey.
The application forms for review of marks are available on the TBSE website. Students would need to submit their review application forms to their respective schools by May 8, while the schools would have to submit the applications to the Board by May 14.
The TBSE secretary further said that students who want to self-inspect their answer scripts are required to submit their applications by May 25.
This year, the pass percentage for Class 10 Board exams is 86.53 per cent, lower than last year’s 87.54 per cent, and the pass percentage for Class 12 at 79.29 per cent is slightly higher compared to last year’s 79.27 per cent.
