Originally slated for release this week, Sarangapani Jathakam was postponed to April 25 to avoid clashing with the releases of Oodela 2 and Arjun – S/O Vyjayanthi. With the new date set, the team has picked up the pace with promotions, the other day launching the film’s trailer to positive buzz.
Directed by Indraganti Mohanakrishna, this comedy entertainer stars Priyadarshi as the lead alongside actress Roopa Koduyur. The film also features Vennela Kishore, Viva Harsha, and Naresh in prominent roles. It is produced by the well-regarded Shivaleeka Krishna Prasad, known for his taste in quality cinema.
Initially, there wasn’t much buzz around Sarangapani Jathakam, but the trailer has managed to flip expectations. Alongside its humor, Indraganti seems to have added an interesting twist of “funny crime,” giving the film a unique flavor. Vennela Kishore even joked that this film feels like what Pushpaka Vimanam might have been if it had dialogues.
Following the success of Balagam, where he played a crucial role, Priyadarshi is now eyeing his big break as a solo lead. He’s hopeful that Sarangapani Jathakam could be that turning point.
However, challenges remain. With intense summer heat and IPL cricket matches dominating attention, audiences haven’t been flocking to theaters. For Sarangapani Jathakam to succeed, it’ll need strong word-of-mouth and a great initial response.
For Indraganti, this film is especially crucial. After back-to-back disappointments with V and Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali, a hit here could clear the path for his ambitious pan-India project.
