The Telugu film industry’s meeting with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been preponed to tomorrow (June 15). It was supposed to be held on June 22nd, but as the state’s Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, will be flying abroad tomorrow for the shoot of his upcoming film Ustaad Bhagat Singh, the meeting has been preponed. Reportedly, this meeting will be held at 4 PM tomorrow in Amaravati.
Several prominent actors, directors, producers, and members of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) will be participating in the meeting tomorrow to discuss development and the persisting problems of the film industry.
The industry bigwigs are expected to extend their full-fledged support to the government and also seek its help in resolving the ongoing dispute regarding the financial troubles faced by theatres and exhibitors. Most of the theatre owners are demanding a percentage-based revenue-sharing model for film releases, instead of the current rental-based system.
Notably, Pawan Kalyan slammed the industry bigwigs a few weeks ago for not holding a meeting with the CM and the state government ever since it came into power last year, despite offering unconditional support to the film industry. Speaking about the theatre issue, he also said that a few individuals are running a monopoly in the industry. All these topics are expected to be discussed in the meeting tomorrow.
