This actor was born in Punjab, British India and hailed from a prominent family. He completed his BA in English literature from Government College in Lahore and moved to Bombay during the 1940s. The actor worked in the military censor’s office before working with an accounting firm. He worked as a clerk and was inspired by Ashok Kumar’s performances and made his debut in the year 1946.
The actor we are talking about is Dev Anand. The legendary star made his debut with the film Hum Ek Hain in the year 1946. Then he gave some amazing movies like Vidya, Jeet, Johny Mera Naam, Guide, Jewel Thief, Kala Pani, Gamble, Hum Dono, etc. Just like his movies, his songs were a big hit. The actor worked with Suraiya in several movies, which led to speculations of the duo being romantically linked. But due to religious differences, thing didn’t work out. After the incident, the Bombay High Court ordered Dev Anand to not wear black as it would “entice” his female fans. Dev Anand passed away at the age of 88 on December 3, 2011 at London’s The Washington Mayfair Hotel.
