has been a part of several multi-starrers in his career. The superstar has been a part of various kinds of movies and has played supporting roles, villains, and even made special appearances. But there was one such film in which we would have seen him star screenspace with Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Priyanka Chopra. However, the casting didn’t become a reality.
For this movie, the director wanted to cast with Amitabh, Akshay, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka, and other big stars like Juhi Chawla, Ameesha Patel, Raveena Tandon, Zayed Khan, Manisha Koirala, John Abraham, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Other actors who were considered but rejected the role were Katrina Kaif, Parineeti Chopra, Asin, and Sonakshi Sinha. The movie we are talking about is Farah Khan’s 2014 superhit film Happy New Year. After Main Hoon Na, Farah wanted to direct HNY as her next film. However, the initial casting was a lot difficult to manage due to scheduling conflicts.
That’s when Farah Khan directed Om Shanti Om and wanted to direct Happy New Year next. Sadly, in 2009, Farah and SRK had a fallout due to the superstar’s fight with her husband, Shirish Kunder. At that time, there were reports that HNY would never see the light. Thankfully, the duo reunited, and after 9 years of delay, the movie was finally made. As reported by Hindustan Times, only SRK and from the initial casting made it to the movie. Apart from them, the heist comedy also stars Boman Irani, , Sonu Sood, Jackie Shroff, and Vivaan Shah.
When Happy New Year was released in theatres, it became the only Hindi movie of that time with the highest opening day. It is also Farah Khan’s last movie as a director. Fans have been waiting for the filmmaker to announce her next project soon.
