Some movies are made on a big budget with massive expectations. While some of them become hits, some terribly flop. Some movies fail badly despite having promising actors in them. One such Hollywood movie was made during the 90s. The budget, the expectation, and the anticipation were great. Sadly, the results were not as good as expected.

The Hollywood movie we are talking about was made on a budget of 160 million dollars. Titled The 13th Warrior, it was released in the year 1999. Despite having all the buzz, the Hollywood action flick was a disaster at the box office. It hardly earned even 60 million dollars at the box office. The movie is cited as the ‘world’s biggest flop film’.

The 13th Warrior is helmed by John McTiernan and featured Veilu Vladimir Kulich, Antonio Banderas, Dennis Storhøi, Omar Sharif, and Richard Bremmer. The movie was adapted from Michael Crichton’s novel Eaters of the Dead, which was lightly based on the tale of Beowulf, coming from Ahmad ibn Fadlan’s historical accounts of the Volga Vikings. The screenplay was written by William Wisher Jr. and Warren Lewis.
