This movie was released in 1993 and had a great ensemble cast. When the project was announced, many thought it would do wonders at the box office. However, when it was released in theatres, it failed to impress the audience. What’s interesting is Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan were considered to play the lead roles in it. But two other big stars got cast instead. Despite the promising casting, the fate of the film didn’t change. So which movie is it? Keep reading further…

The movie we are talking about is King Uncle. It was one of the first few movies in which Shah Rukh Khan was seen with another big star at the beginning of his career. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, it also stars Jackie Shroff, Anu Aggarwal, Nagma, Paresh Rawal, and Sushmita Mukherjee. According to reports, the movie’s music was a hit. However, the film tanked at the box office.

But did you know that Jackie and SRK were not the first choices for the movie? Jackie Shroff’s role of Ashok was first offered to Amitabh Bachchan. However, the megastar rejected the offer. On the other hand, the makers wanted to cast Salman Khan as Anil instead of Shah Rukh Khan. However, producer Vivek Vaswani, who is a good friend of SRK, suggested his name to director Rakesh Roshan.

As per the reports, Rakesh couldn’t convince Big B to be a part of King Uncle. However, Amitabh didn’t leave him disappointed. It was him who suggested the director cast Jackie Shroff in the titular role.
