Nowadays AI (Artificial Intelligence) is gaining a lot of popularity among the masses. The technology is used in almost every field. But, did you know, AI’s first initiative was taken in South Cinema? Well, Kannada cinema has made amazing use of Artificial Intelligence to make India’s first feature film ‘Love You’. S. Narasimhamurthy of Bangalore has made the feature film ‘Love You’ with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The film is 95 minutes long and was made on a budget of Rs 10 lakh. Two people were involved in this project Narasimhamurthy and Graphic Artist. It took six months for them to complete the film. The makers of this film are claiming it to be the world’s first AI-based film.
‘Love You’ has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. Right from its songs to dialogues, character animations to camera movement – everything has been completely created by AI. The film has 12 songs in it which have been created by AI. Narasimhamurthy has called it a digital miracle and fans are shocked by its ultimate result.
The makers of ‘Love You’ have showcased to the world that films can be made on a low budget too with the usage of technology. Narasimha Murthy fulfilled his dreams with no actors and created his first AI-generated film. Narasimha spoke to TOI and stated that he wanted to make the ‘world’s first AI feature film and release it in cinema halls. His plan is to set it on the one screen to set a record. Where The Robots Grow, another AI film was released in 2024.
Talking about how the CBFC reacted, he told them, “Even the regional censor officer pointed out inconsistencies in the characters’ features from scene to scene. Creating emotional expressions was a challenge, and lip-syncing is far from ideal.” Nuthan stated that AI technology was fast growing and said, “The tools we used are already six months old. If we recreated the same film today, it would be a thousand times better.”
