When some directors and actors collaborate for a movie, the expectations are naturally high. But even if two amazing talents come together, it is not necessary that things always work out well. Their movies flop, but they move on to doing more interesting work. However, some equations change for some reason, which may not necessarily be related to an unsuccessful project. Something similar happened between a big Bollywood star and a popular director.
This actor and the director collaborated for a thriller film in 2007. It had an ensemble cast and despite the buzz, the film didn’t do that well at the box office. The filmmaker revealed that it has been 18 years since the actor has not talked to him. We are talking about Ajay Devgn and Anubhav Sinha, who joined hands for the movie Cash in 2007.
In an interview, the Ra One director revealed that Ajay Devgn has not talked to him for 18 years and how the actor has not responded to his messages since then. “We have never fought. He just doesn’t speak to me and I have no idea why. Since the making of Cash, we haven’t even met for me to tell you he ignored me or something. So, maybe its just me overthinking. However, I did text him a couple of times and never received a response, so I told myself that maybe it slipped his mind or he must have missed my message. But its been about 18 years since we have spoken,” Sinha revealed.
The filmmaker also clarified that there was no disagreement between him and Ajay Devgn while working on Cash. The differences were between the producer and financier and Sinha was neither of them. So was there any disagreement over a song in which Ajay wanted to star? Anubhav even squashed this rumour, stating that there were no issues regarding this matter also.
Further, the filmmaker told The Lallantop, “Ajay was among my favourite actors. I loved him both as an actor and an individual. He is fun to be with. He is like ‘yaaro ka yaar.’. Ajay is always the first one to be there for a friend in need. In between, I did comment on people’s political views, so I must have told him something too. But he was not the only person I commented about. I have said things to various people, but I still maintain good relations with them all. I am his admirer and I really respect him as an actor and individual.”
After Ajay Devgn, Anubhav Sinha has worked with several big Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Rajkummar Rao.
