In an interview, Singh had made interesting revelations about the same. Upasana said that Sooraj had told her everything about the film and the role and had selected her. The next day, he even told the actress to meet his father.
“The next day, I met his father and he rejected me. They are very sweet people so he did not say rejected but they did not call me again,” revealed Upasana. Further in this entertainment news, Upasana Singh revealed that years later, she worked with Rajshri Entertainment for Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon. That’s when Raj Kumar Barjatya revealed that she was the first choice to play Suman alongside Salman Khan.
For all these years, Upasana never revealed that she was first selected to play the female lead in Maine Pyar Kiya. The actress later found out that it was her height that got her replaced in the romantic drama.
“He said, ‘I am not making an excuse, but you were taller than alman.'” That is what I was told. They wanted someone who was a little shorter than Salman so that’s why they didn’t cast me. They were not lying,” shared Upasana.
