Back in 2016, Priyanka Chopra made this revelation in an interview with The Guardian. “I was the darkest, so in jest my family called me kaali (black girl), and I never really understood how much that affected me until I was a teenager,” Priyanka revealed. That is not all. She also revealed that when she was studying in New York, she was bullied by her classmates and was called ‘brownie’ and ‘curry’. The actress shared that it affected her so much that she would end up eating food in washroom.

Priyanka Chopra in the same interview revealed that her father stopped her from wearing tight clothes. That was because he was protective. After a boy climbed onto her balcony, her father Ashok Chopra put up wrought iron bars on windows. She said, “My dad was terrified, and he literally turned our house into a jail. He put wrought-iron bars on my windows – because one guy had jumped from another terrace on to my balcony – and a big lock on the front door. I wasn’t allowed to wear tight clothes or tight T-shirts. We had a big clash of egos.”

Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World Pageant in 2000 and from then on her life changed. She is now married to Nick Jonas and they have a daughter named Malti.
