With their sizzling chemistry and performances, they won the audience’s heart. However, when Akshay allegedly left Shilpa for Twinkle Khanna, the Baazigar actress had to face a rough time. At that time, she was also shooting for the movie Dhadkan with him, which also stars Suniel Shetty.
As reported by IBT, in an old interview, Shilpa said, “It has been a rough period, personally. But I’m glad that the ordeal is over. After every dark cloud, there’s always a silver lining. All this while, though things were going well professionally, my personal life was pulling me down. It feels good that it’s finally behind me.”
Further in the same interview, Shetty revealed how she just wanted their movie’s shooting to get over. “I wanted our film to get over and be released so that it wouldn’t come in the way of my producers. I couldn’t harass them just because my personal life was turning into shambles. So, I decided to wait till Dhadkan was done with.”
The actress also reflected on the pain she had to undergo due to her breakup with Akshay Kumar and shared, “When you love someone and, all along, don’t realise that you are being taken for a ride, it can be very annoying.”
