The actor got involved in a legal controversy and his career ended. His career game down crashing in 2009 after he was accused of raping his 19-year-old domestic help. The actor had been married to Anupam Pandey since 1997 and they were blessed with a daughter named Arshiya. After getting bail, Shiney made a comeback to Bollywood with the film Welcome Back in 2015.
