Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) star bowler has praised his teammates Yash Dayal and Josh Hazlewood and how they have strengthened the team’s bowling attack in the ongoing IPL 2025. RCB are in the second position with their terrific performance in the tournament. This time, most of the credit goes to the bowling unit for helping the team win matches from crucial stages.
Moreover, the presence of the three front-line pacers has been quite beneficial for the team. Earlier, the team lacked a good pace bowling attack, but this season has been different. Hence, they are doing well in the points table as well.
Bhuvneshwar spoke about the bowling aspects and the strong points of each player. Moreover, he mentioned that when the three of them bowl together, it becomes a different combination altogether.
“If you talk about Yash and Josh, and the three of us- we are the same but different as well. If we talk about the aspects that are similar, the three of us can swing it. And then if you look at Josh Hazlewood, he has the height, and Yash is a left-arm pacer, which helps create a different angle altogether. And the best part is that all three of us can bowl at any stage of the game, and we have done it as well. These qualities help complement each other a lot,” said Bhuvneshwar Kumar as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.
Death bowling is like an instinct: Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Speaking about the death bowling and the thought process behind it, Bhuvneshwar Kumar said that it’s ‘instinctive’ and not much planning can help the bowlers during the crunch situations. There are so many instances where teams discuss during the death overs, but hardly any of the plans get implemented by the bowlers.
“Death bowling is like an instinct. It depends on what is the situation of the match and what you are thinking as well. When there are team meetings, you plan things in a particular way. But a lot of times, you do it differently on the ground, because that instinct kicks in,” added Kumar.
