The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce urged the Telugu Film Producers Council and the exhibitor sector to resolve their ongoing conflict immediately and ensure smooth operations of theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Over the last few days, the producers and the exhibitors have been in a fight regarding the revenue-sharing system. Exhibitors have also stated that they would shut down all theatres in Telugu states from June 1st if their demands are not met.
Amid these disturbances, TFCC penned a letter to the Producers Council, urging them to come up with a solution to this dispute as soon as possible.
“The AP and Telangana Exhibitor Sector held a meeting on May 18 and came to a decision that they would like to function only through the percentage system and added that if their demand is not met, theatres across Telugu states would be shut from June 1,” the letter read.
TFCC further asked the Producers Council’s response to this demand so that it could arrange a joint meeting between both parties. It appealed to both parties to take a mutual decision, which would help the future of Telugu cinema. With this appeal, we have to see if Tollywood producers come up with their response and hold talks with the exhibitors to pass a joint resolution.
