Shruti Haasan is one of the versatile talents in the movie industry. She is gearing up for her international debut currently. The actress played the leading lady in the British psychological thriller titled The Eye. Directed by Daphne Schmon, the movie will be the opening feature at the 5th Wench Film Festival. The film festival begins tomorrow.
On this special occasion, the team also launched the trailer which has a lot of scope for Shruti Haasan to showcase her skills as a performer. The film tells the story of a young girl, Diana, who witnesses her husband Felix getting drowned in a remote island in front of her eyes. She tries to seek closure for the trauma, but her grief soon turns to intrigue when she learns of the mysterious Evil Eye ritual—an ancient practice that might bring Felix back but demands a dark and unsettling sacrifice.
As Diana, Shruti Haasan is at her best. She has performed very well, and the little nuances attached to her character are so perfect through the trailer. The majority of the movie was shot in Athens and Corfu, harnessing the atmospheric beauty of Greece.
Earlier, the movie was screened at the London Independent Film Festival and the Greek International Film Festival.
