Sankranthi season has ended and apart from Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, none of the Pongal releases have been steady at the box office right now. There are new films lined up for release tomorrow but unfortunately, not a single movie of this lot is carrying a good buzz among the audience.
More than six films are getting released tomorrow and the notable one among them is Gandhi Thatha Chettu. Sukumar’s daughter Sukruthi plays the lead role in this movie. Despite Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar backing the film, it carries no buzz.
Tovino Thomas and Trisha’s latest Malayalam hit Identity is getting released in Telugu with the same name. But with zero promotions, many people didn’t know about this movie’s release.
On the other side, Premalu fame Mamitha Baiju’s 2018 Malayalam film Krishnam is now releasing in Telugu as Dear Krishna. The makers just want to bank on Mamitha’s fame but there is no interest seen from the audience side.
Apart from these, a small film titled Thalli Manasu, Hong Kong Warriors and Hindi film Sky Force are hitting the screens tomorrow. However, none of them are experiencing good advance bookings.
After looking at these dull trends, it seems like Sankranthiki Vasthunnam and Daaku Maharaaj will continue dominating the box office. With ticket rates being slashed in AP from this week, we can expect the collections of these movies to increase.
On the other side, people who have watched these movies might have to wait till Thandel’s release (February 7) as it is the next film in the release lineup.
